Capital Assistance Scheme (CAS) Call for Proposals 2017

Notice to Approved Housing Bodies

The Department of Housing Planning and Local Government is now accepting applications for capital funding for the delivery, through either construction or acquisition, of housing accommodation, to cater for the priority groups under the Capital Assistance Scheme (CAS) including:

  • Elderly
  • Homeless persons (including “care leavers” exiting State care on reaching the age of 18)
  • People with a disability, with a particular emphasis on moving people with disability from a congregated setting into community based living.

Cork City Council now invites submissions for new CAS construction and acquisition proposals, specifically for the provision of accommodation to meet the needs of all the target groups under CAS.

All AHB’s will need to adhere to the Circular Capital Assistance Scheme Call for Proposals 2017, which outlines details of the scheme, including:-

  1. Acquisition of units
  2. Construction of new units
  3. Criteria to be used by Local Authorities in assessing proposals
  4. Rents
  5. Compliance with Voluntary Regulatory Code
  6. Ethical Framework and Disclosure of Interest

No deadline will apply to the submission of applications as this is an open “rolling” call.

Note:  revised CAS forms have been issued by the Department and the new CAS1 form can be downloaded here: CAS1 Form
